Sagar Ghimire

Sagar Ghimire, originally from the scenic Palpa District in Nepal, has been an active and valued member of the Nepalese community in the United States since his arrival in 2009. In Nepal, he was deeply involved in the media sector, working with radio, publications, and online media, and was also engaged in human rights initiatives, notably as the District Programs Coordinator for Youth Action Nepal for over four years.
In the USA, Sagar has been a pillar of support for Nepalese newcomers, assisting them with crucial processes like driver’s license acquisition, green card applications, and other USCIS-related matters. His commitment to community service is further exemplified by his involvement with the Baltimore Association of Nepalese in America (BANA) since 2011. In BANA, Sagar has held significant roles, serving as the Membership Director from 2017 to 2019 and currently as the General Secretary.
As the General Secretary, Sagar is integral to the administration of BANA, responsible for maintaining meeting records, managing correspondences, and ensuring effective internal communication. He coordinates various committees and collaborates closely with the executive team to implement BANA’s objectives and strategies.
Alongside his community engagements, Sagar is an entrepreneur, running a small business in Baltimore. This venture reflects his dedication and versatile skills, contributing to the local economy and community. Sagar cherishes his family life in Baltimore, where he resides with his wife, two children, and brother, creating a harmonious balance between his professional, community, and personal life.

Parvati Singh, a dedicated member of the Nepalese diaspora, hails from Godawari Municipality-8 in the Farwest Province of Kailali, Nepal. She has been a resident of Baltimore, USA, for the past 12 years, where she has significantly contributed to the Nepalese community.
Parvati holds a Master’s degree in Sociology, a testament to her deep understanding of social dynamics, which she effectively applies in her community work. She currently holds the vital position of Treasurer in the Baltimore Association of Nepalese in America (BANA), where she is responsible for managing the organization’s financial matters, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
In addition to her role in BANA, Parvati serves as the Vice President (Female) for the Farwestern Nepali Society’s International Committee. This role underscores her commitment to fostering and maintaining ties with the global Nepalese community, especially focusing on the Farwestern region of Nepal.
Furthermore, Parvati is an active Executive Member of ANA USA, where she contributes to the broader Nepalese community in the United States. Her involvement extends to the Himani Trust Maryland USA as an Executive Member, demonstrating her dedication to various causes and her ability to effectively juggle multiple responsibilities.
Parvati’s extensive involvement in these organizations reflects her strong leadership skills and her passion for serving the Nepalese community in diverse capacities. Her sociological expertise, coupled with her hands-on experience in community service, makes her an invaluable asset to the Nepalese community in Baltimore and beyond.

Yamuna Ghimire is the Membership Director at the Baltimore Association of Nepalese in America (BANA), serving with passion and dedication since her initial involvement with the organization. A native of Kathmandu, Nepal, she moved to the United States in 2012, bringing with her a wealth of experience in social work and education.
Before relocating to the USA, Yamuna was deeply involved in her community in Nepal. She worked as a training coordinator and counselor at "Sakriya Sewa Samaj," a health-related non-profit organization. Her leadership skills shone as she served as president of a religious social organization for six years, demonstrating her ability to guide and inspire. In the field of education, she was a principal at a secondary school for seven years and further contributed as a teacher in a college for +2 level students. Her academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Sociology from Tribhuvan University, which underpin her deep understanding of social dynamics and community needs.
Yamuna's journey with BANA began when she became a life member in 2013. Her commitment to the organization and its mission led her to take an active role in the Executive Committee Board of Directors in 2019. As the Chief of the Cultural Department until 2022, Yamuna played a critical role in supporting and uplifting community members, especially during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her initiatives included distributing free food, safety materials like face masks and hand sanitizers, and participating in health camps organized by BANA. This period marked a significant phase in her service, where she made active and meaningful contributions to the organization and the Nepalese community at large.
As Membership Director, Yamuna now focuses on engaging with current and prospective members, enriching their association with BANA and ensuring that the organization grows and remains a supportive pillar for Nepalese in Baltimore and beyond

As a student who has navigated the transition from Nepal's educational system to that of the U.S., she embodies the resilience and adaptability that characterizes many young members of the Nepalese diaspora.
Within BANA, Saru's role goes beyond her contributions to the board. She represents the bridge between cultures and generations, ensuring that the voices of younger members are heard and valued. Isha Gurung, originally from the serene city of Pokhara in Nepal, has been a dynamic figure within the Nepalese community in the United States since 2008. A social worker by passion and a licensed cosmetologist by profession, Isha has blended her talents to serve the community with a creative and nurturing spirit.
Since her transition to the United States, Isha has been actively involved in various nonprofit organizations, bringing her professional skills and cultural insights to the forefront of community service. She has notably contributed to the Baltimore Tamu Samaj, first as the S.Treasurer from 2016 to 2018, and then as the Cultural Coordinator from 2016 to 2022, roles in which she helped to foster a vibrant cultural exchange and financial stability within the organization.
Her commitment to the Nepalese community is further reflected in her roles with Inas Maryland, where she served as the V. Treasurer from 2017 to 2019, and later as the S. Treasurer from 2019 to 2021. In recognition of her wisdom and experience, she was appointed as an Adviser from 2021 to 2023, a testament to her valued counsel and leadership.
In 2022, Isha was elected to the Board of Directors for the Baltimore Association of Nepalese in America (BANA), a position she holds with honor and dedication. Her tenure on the board until 2025 is anticipated to be a period of significant contribution and innovation for BANA. As a general member since 2008 and a life member since 2021, Isha's long-standing involvement with BANA underlines her deep-rooted commitment to the welfare and cultural preservation of the Nepalese community in Baltimore.
Isha's multifaceted involvement across organizations showcases her leadership skills, passion for social work, and her dedication to serving the Nepalese community in diverse capacities.
